As of July 28, in Cherkasy Oblast, 83% of the shelters in educational institutions are ready out of the planned number. This was announced by the head of Cherkasy Regional Military Administration, Igor Taburets, during a broadcast on Ukrainian Radio Cherkasy. Taburets mentioned that active work is ongoing in educational institutions.

"Currently (as of July 28), the readiness of shelters in educational institutions stands at 83%. By the beginning of the new school year, we hope to reach 98%. We are doing everything so that students can return to school either in person or in a hybrid format," explained Igor Taburets.

Taburets also talked about modular shelters and said that tender procedures are nearing completion.

"In general, one modular shelter is designed to accommodate about 20 people. However, these are not shelters for schools. Such shelters will be installed as additional ones where there is not enough space for shelter," said the head of Cherkasy Regional Military Administration.

It's worth noting that Poltava region sent 40 volunteers to Kherson to assist in clearing the aftermath of the Kherson Hydroelectric Power Plant explosion. These volunteers will replace the Poltava brigade that has been working for two weeks to clear streets and homes for the residents of Kherson who were affected by flooding.
