Odessa region has been working with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) for a long time. As of today, 13 projects have been approved for funding, with seven in the city of Odessa and six in the region, totaling approximately 1.5 billion hryvnias. This funding is part of the Extraordinary Credit Program for Ukraine's Recovery, financed by the European Investment Bank.
"We appreciate the comprehensive support of Odessa region. This time, we drew the attention of UNDP representatives to the Odessa Regional Clinical Hospital, the Odessa Regional Children's Hospital, and the Odessa Regional Center for socially significant diseases. The condition of these medical institutions is far from ideal. Relevant expertise has been conducted, and project documentation for their reconstruction is ready. During the meeting, we received a positive signal from the UNDP team," said Oleg Kiper.
Both parties agreed to continue their collaboration and implement new joint projects.
"We have been in contact with Odessa for six years, and with the new regional leadership, we are just beginning to work. Odessa and the region demonstrate unity, and this is the ideal model of cooperation. We want such unity to exist throughout Ukraine," stated Igor Kistenev-Kavkazky, the UNDP representative and head of the project of the National Committee on Vital and Vulnerable Issues.
Recall that on July 5, international partners of Ukraine visited Odessa region. The delegation included the Ministers of Agriculture of Ukraine, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, and Moldova.
