On June 2nd, a charity concert was held at Poltava Polytechnic Institute, featuring famous Ukrainian singers Mykhailo Khoma "DZIDZIO" and Oleksandr Ponomariov. The event was hosted by another well-known Ukrainian, television host and participant in numerous TV programs, Yuriy Horbunov. The three of them came to Poltava to collectively raise funds in support of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
The concert attracted not only students and faculty from Poltava Polytechnic but also many residents and guests of the city.
Yuriy Horbunov was the first to take the stage, expressing his admiration for the talented youth at Poltava Polytechnic during his first visit to the institution. He also commended the current rector, Volodymyr Onyshchenko, for the continuous development of the university. Horbunov mentioned that from the early days of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, Poltava Polytechnic established a volunteer headquarters that provided shelter and food to internally displaced persons from various regions of the country. Later, the university set up its own "Resilience Point."
The concert program began with Mykhailo Khoma, who performed the "Spiritual Anthem of Ukraine" and sang "Marichka," a song associated with the unforgettable Dmytro Hnatyuk.
During the concert, Mykhailo Khoma also transformed into his alter ego, DZIDZIO, and entertained the audience with his signature songs while wearing his trademark hat. He performed "Vasylyna" and "Ya i Sara," getting the audience involved and enthusiastic about his performance.
Next up was one of Ukraine's top music stars, Oleksandr Ponomariov. He started with solo performances of his romantic hits, such as "Vin Chekaie na Nei" and "Liubysh." He also sang "Zaspivaimo Pisen za Ukrainu" and other beloved songs. Later, Mykhailo Khoma joined him on stage, and together, they delighted the audience with songs like "Chomu," "Pazly," and "Hey, Sokoly."
The performance turned into a trio and even a quartet. During the rendition of "Ukraina Peremozhe," the trio was joined by the host, Yuriy Horbunov, and the university's rector, Volodymyr Onyshchenko.
The concert concluded with the Ukrainian National Anthem, performed by Oleksandr Ponomariov in the style reminiscent of the good old times before the matches of the Ukrainian national football team.
Previously in Cherkasy, children were taught basic medical aid techniques. Instructors who were paramedics and specialist field medics taught the participants how to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation, stop bleeding, measure pulse, blood pressure, and weight, among other essential skills.
