On June 11th, in the Korpusnyi Sad Park of Poltava, several hundred city residents gathered for the traditional Veloday event. This year, it was held as part of the Spasky Festival, which took place in the city on June 10th and 11th. The event had a charitable purpose, as participants made contributions during registration to purchase two night vision devices for servicemen of the 116th Territorial Defense Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. These soldiers are currently defending Ukraine on the frontlines of the eastern direction.

Many adult participants in the cycling event brought their children along. Some of the little Poltava residents bravely completed the cycling route on their own small bicycles, while others rode in child seats alongside their parents.

According to the organizers, 115 participants registered online for the cycling event, with an additional 191 cyclists joining offline. Each participant made a donation of at least 150 hryvnias. Among those who donated the highest amounts, valuable prizes were raffled, with the most attractive prize being a new bicycle.

Before the start of the cycling event, participants were given detailed instructions. They were informed that they would be riding in an organized column at a low speed. The column would be accompanied by patrol police vehicles both in front and behind.

The cycling event followed the circular bus route. Participants completed the full circle in approximately an hour. The slowly moving column stretched over several hundred meters. The event concluded on Spaska Street near "MistoKhаb," where the "Spasky Fest" took place. Participants in the cycling event also received the right to visit the festival area. In the evening, there was a concert at the festival, featuring the well-known Ukrainian band "Latexfauna."

Moreover, all participants in the cycling event had the opportunity to visit Poltava's municipal museums free of charge on the day of the event.

Earlier, we reported that a girl who lost her leg due to Russian shelling was able to return to sports.
