The five hundred sixteenth day of large-scale armed aggression by the Russian Federation against our state continues. Here's a brief summary of the main events of the day:
The Russian Federation continues to kill the civilian population of Ukraine and ignores the laws and customs of war, using terror tactics and launching attacks on both military and civilian targets.
During the night, the Russian Federation launched another aviation strike using Iranian UAVs of the "Shahed" type on Ukraine.
Over the past day, the enemy has carried out 1 missile strike and 58 aviation strikes, along with more than 26 shelling attacks using rocket artillery on the positions of our troops and populated areas. Unfortunately, there have been casualties among children and the civilian population, and port infrastructure and grain storage facilities in southern Ukraine have suffered damage, as well as residential buildings and other infrastructure.
In recent days, Russian forces targeted the Mirivska community in the Nikopol district of the Dnipropetrovsk region with heavy artillery. Fortunately, there were no casualties reported.
A 54-year-old woman sought medical attention after being injured during yesterday's shelling in the Synelnykivska region. She suffered a head injury and spinal contusion and was hospitalized in moderate condition.
A minor earthquake with a magnitude of 2.6 on the Richter scale was registered in the Reshetylivska community of the Poltava region. This earthquake is classified as unfelt, as its intensity is below the threshold of human perception, and it was only detected by seismographs.
On the night of July 23-24, Russian terrorists once again attacked the Odessa region, targeting port infrastructure along the Danube River. The attackers used "Shahed-136" drones, and Ukrainian forces were able to neutralize three of these drones. The attack resulted in damage to grain storage facilities, reservoirs, and one of the buildings experienced a fire that was promptly extinguished.
Former Chief of the Odesa Regional Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center, Yevhen Borysov, was detained by the National Anti-Corruption Bureau and the Office of the Prosecutor General. He is suspected of unlawful enrichment in the amount of hundreds of millions of hryvnias and deliberate evasion of service.
Borysov attempted to evade investigators by changing phone numbers, locations, and other elements of concealment, but he was eventually located and arrested in Kyiv.
Local communities in Ukraine have allocated nearly 250 million hryvnias for the purchase of drones for the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The top five communities that allocated the most funds for drone purchases are: Dnipro (68 million hryvnias), Lutsk (14 million hryvnias), Lysychansk (Luhansk region - 13 million hryvnias), Ivano-Frankivsk (9 million hryvnias), and Opishnia (Poltava region - 9 million hryvnias). Opishnia, with a population of 8,130, is the smallest of these communities.
In Odessa, efforts continue to eliminate the consequences of the enemy's attack. Preliminary information indicates that as a result of the enemy's rocket attack on July 23, 2023, in Odessa, 61 buildings and 146 apartments have been damaged. Municipal enterprises are carrying out urgent anti-accident measures, including clearing debris and clearing roads and courtyards. The damaged residential buildings have been temporarily sealed with plastic film. Additionally, there are reports of damage to 28 cultural heritage sites.
