On May 17, Russian occupiers conducted three artillery shelling attacks in the Nikopol district of Dnipropetrovsk region in Ukraine. The attacks were carried out using heavy artillery, affecting the Marganetska and Myrivska communities. According to the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, the attacks caused damage to a multi-story residential building, eleven private houses, seven power transmission lines, six gas pipelines, a beehive, and two vehicles in the Myrivska community. Additionally, a kindergarten, a medical clinic, two cultural institutions, a store, and an agricultural enterprise were severely affected. In the Marganetska community, the attack targeted an agricultural firm.
This incident follows a previous attack in the Nikopol district on May 6th, which resulted in the tragic death of a 71-year-old woman and injuries to seven other people. The infrastructure of the city, including private residences, a multi-story building, an educational institution, industrial facilities, a solar power station, vehicles, gas supply lines, and electrical grids, was damaged or destroyed during the attack.
Earlier, Russian occupiers launched a missile strike on Odessa. It was reported that the occupiers attacked Odessa with long-range aviation Tu-22M3 bombers. A total of eight missiles were launched from the area near the Tarkhankut Peninsula in the occupied Crimea. Some of the missiles did not reach their intended targets. The attack resulted in minor injuries to three people (warehouse workers), who received prompt medical assistance on-site and were not hospitalized.
