Today, on June 14, a Day of Mourning has been declared in Kryvyi Rih. This announcement was made during an evening briefing by the head of the City Defense Council, Oleksandr Vilkul.
Recall that Kryvyi Rih was hit by six rockets, which struck five civilian objects with no military significance.
"The enemy struck a five-story residential building, a transport enterprise, a storage facility where regular water and various beverages were stored, and other civilian objects. The enemy killed 11 civilians. Four died in the five-story building, and the bodies of another seven were found in the rubble of the warehouse. Thirty-six people were injured, with 12 currently in hospitals. Two are in extremely critical condition, and eight are in serious condition. Two are in fair condition. Doctors are providing all necessary assistance to the injured and fighting for their lives," said the head of the regional defense council.
Over 70 residential buildings suffered damage as a result of the strikes, including 7 nine-story buildings, 8 four-story buildings, and 55 five-story buildings. Three schools, three other educational institutions (Pedagogical University and Vocational School No. 45), and a dormitory were also affected. At this time, about 400 apartments have been affected, with over 1,300 windows in apartments and common areas shattered. Roofs on 10 buildings have also been damaged.
Immediately after the enemy attack, firefighters, rescue teams, and city emergency services were dispatched to the impact areas. From a burning five-story building, 12 people were evacuated, including a three-month-old child. Local residents also assisted the rescue teams.
