In Odesa a pedestrian was killed by a truck

A fatal road accident occurred on June 18th, around 4:00 PM, on the Izmail-Reni highway, near the village of Broska. A 64-year-old man was killed in the accident, which involved a truck. The incident was reported by the police in the Odessa region.

According to law enforcement, a 57-year-old resident of Kyiv region was driving a truck onto the main road from a secondary road at the time of the accident. Meanwhile, a 64-year-old local resident was attempting to cross the road and was struck by the truck. As a result, the man suffered injuries incompatible with life and tragically passed away. An investigative and operational group of law enforcement officers arrived at the scene to determine all the circumstances of the accident. The driver of the truck is being tested for signs of intoxication. The police are considering opening an investigation under Part 2 of Article 286 of the Ukrainian Criminal Code, which pertains to violations of road safety or vehicle operation rules leading to the death of a person or causing severe bodily harm.

Earlier in Cherkasy, a woman under the influence crashed into a parked car. A child was injured as a result of the road accident.

Additionally, in Poltava, a drunken motorcyclist struck an eight-year-old boy. The child sustained injuries in the road accident and was hospitalized for intensive treatment at Lubny Hospital.
