In Odessa region, rescuers continue to teach children the basics of fire and mine safety. Recently, the Berezivskyi rescuers visited a children's summer tent camp in the Novokalchevska territorial community. This camp is organized with the support of the Swiss-Ukrainian project "Decentralization for the Development of Democratic Education."
The firefighters, along with the children of young firefighter-rescuers from the support institution, Lyceum No. 3, talked to the kids about the rules of mine and fire safety. They also explained how to respond to the "Air Raid" signal. The children were educated on how to avoid causing fires in the natural environment and at home. They were reminded of when and how to contact the Rescue Service.
During the sessions, the children had the opportunity to sit in fire trucks, experience the use of fire extinguishers to put out a simulated fire, and learn about the equipment used by rescuers.
Previously, in Poltava region, 18 settlements were left without electricity after a storm. Power workers were able to quickly repair all the damage.
In Odessa, local residents reported an unpleasant odor near a building destroyed by Russian shelling. Rescue teams, including three rescue workers with dogs, arrived at the scene. After an hour of searching under the rubble, they found a woman's body. The State Emergency Service reminds people that ignoring air raid alerts can cost lives and urges residents to head to shelters immediately after receiving such alerts.
