Volodymyr Zelensky in Odesa region: a meeting with the military and the introduction of the head of the region

Today, May 31, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky is on a working visit to Odesa region. This was reported by the President's Office.

Volodymyr Zelensky held a meeting with the military command and law enforcement officials of Odesa region to discuss the current situation in the region.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Head of the state introduced the newly appointed head of Odesa Regional State Administration, Oleh Kiper.

Addressing the new head of the regional administration, the President emphasized that working in Odesa is a very responsible task.

"This is a priority region of our independent state. I think, from your experience, you understand your tasks perfectly. It is the coordination of all institutions in wartime. Especially all government bodies, law enforcement agencies, and local authorities. It is very important to communicate with our military and commanders," said Volodymyr Zelensky.

According to the Head of the state, a separate priority is security at sea, as it is necessary to ensure the operation of the grain corridor, which is fundamental for Ukraine's economy.

During the meeting, the President heard reports from Eduard Moskaliov, the commander of the OSUV "Odesa," on the operational situation in the area of responsibility of the Southern Operational Command (OK "Pivden") and the readiness of military units to perform their assigned tasks. The Commander of the Ukrainian Naval Forces, Oleksiy Neizhpapa, informed about the current situation in the zone of responsibility of the Navy.
