5 May. Results of the day

Summarizing the main events that happened on May 5th. During the past day, the Russian Federation launched a massive attack on our country's territory, using Iranian UAVs 'Shahed,' with 18 out of 24 destroyed by our defenders. This was reported by the General Staff.

The Russian Federation continues to employ a strategy of terror. Over the past day, the enemy carried out 10 missile strikes on the cities of Kramatorsk and Zaporizhzhia, conducted 75 airstrikes, and fired 65 salvoes from rocket artillery systems at the positions of our troops and populated areas. There are casualties and injuries among the civilian population, and private residential houses, educational institutions, kindergartens, and other civilian infrastructure have been destroyed or damaged.

In Dnipro, a competition was held for residential buildings' housing cooperatives (OSBB) to determine the best community cleanup initiative. This initiative was proposed by the Department for Self-Organization of the Population of the Dnipro City Council.

On the night of May 5, 2023, the first heart transplant was performed at Odesa Municipal Clinical Hospital No. 1. This is the third heart transplant operation in Odesa, with the previous two being carried out at Municipal Hospital No. 10.

On May 5th, the remains of 80 fallen defenders were successfully returned home. This was reported by the Ministry for the Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine.

The transfer of bodies from temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine was facilitated by the Office of the Commissioner for Missing Persons, in collaboration with law enforcement agencies.

Deputies of the Kropyvnytskyi City Council supported an appeal to prevent the participation of Russian and Belarusian athletes in the Olympic and Asian Games.

In Cherkasy region, a series of large-scale and regular exercises for special services have begun, involving all personnel engaged in emergency situations from various units across the region. Cadets are also participating in these exercises.
