August 7: results of the day

The five hundred and thirtieth day of large-scale armed aggression by the Russian Federation against our state continues. Let's briefly summarize the main events of the day that is passing. Over the course of the day, the enemy carried out two missile strikes and 33 aviation strikes, along with 50 shelling attacks from rocket artillery systems on the positions of our troops and populated areas. There have been casualties and injuries among the civilian population as a result of Russian terrorist attacks. The likelihood of missile and aviation strikes across the entire territory of Ukraine remains high, as reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

In addition:

22 Ukrainian fighters were successfully liberated from Russian captivity; they will undergo necessary rehabilitation.

An explosion of a gas cylinder occurred in a nine-story building in Poltava, resulting in injuries.

A criminal group in Poltava region attempted to bribe an officer of the SSU (Security Service of Ukraine) to turn a blind eye to their illegal business activities.

Russian missile and heavy artillery strikes were documented in Dnipropetrovsk region.

In Poltava region, charges were brought against the head of the district military enlistment office, who, along with two military personnel, severely beat his subordinate to unconsciousness.

A metropolitan of the Vinnytsia diocese of the UOC-MP (Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate) was sentenced to five years in prison. He supported the war in Ukraine and called for changing the borders of our country.

A military funeral will be held in Piryatin for a soldier who died as a result of enemy artillery shelling.
