The five hundred fifteenth day of the large-scale armed aggression by the Russian Federation against our country is ongoing. Here is a brief overview of the main events of the day:
Today, during the night, Russian occupiers launched another missile strike on Ukrainian territory. Information regarding the consequences of this terrorist attack is currently being clarified.
During the past 24 hours, Russian aggressors conducted an aerial attack, employing combat drones of the "Shahed" type. As a result of successful combat operations, all 5 combat UAVs were destroyed by our forces. Additionally, the enemy carried out 4 missile strikes, 58 aerial attacks, and conducted 81 artillery shelling on the positions of our troops and civilian areas. Unfortunately, there are casualties among the civilian population, with residential buildings and other infrastructure suffering damage.
The night in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast was marked by enemy shelling. Heavy artillery fire targeted populated areas twice. The Manganetska community and Nikopol were among the targeted locations. Fortunately, there were no casualties, but local property was heavily damaged. In Nikopol, three private houses and as many utility buildings were damaged. An automobile and a power transmission line were also affected.
On the night of July 22nd to July 23rd, Russian forces conducted another large-scale attack on the territory of Odesa and its region. As of 4:00 AM, it was determined that one person was killed as a result of enemy shelling of the city, and 22 others were injured, including 4 children. The rocket attack caused damage and destruction to civilian infrastructure, multi-story and private residential buildings, and citizens' vehicles. One of the religious buildings in the city center was also damaged, with a fire breaking out.
According to the investigation, in the night of July 23rd, the enemy once again carried out a massive shelling of Odesa. Preliminary data suggests the use of "Kalibr," X-22, "Oniks," "Iskander-K," and "Iskander-M" missiles. As a result of the shelling, a 49-year-old man was killed, and at least 19 local residents sustained multiple injuries, including 4 children.
Vinnytsia Oblast State Administration delivered another cargo of construction materials for the restoration of housing in the village of Kalynivske, Kherson Oblast. According to the Head of the Vinnytsia Oblast State Administration, Serhiy Borzov, within the framework of the nationwide project "Shoulder to Shoulder," they delivered 25 tons of crushed stone and 25 tons of screenings. In addition, roofing materials and drainage systems were provided for the first buildings under restoration.
The Cherkasy Oblast Prosecutor's Office has approved and sent to court an indictment against a resident of Luhansk who is accused of committing a crime under Part 4 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (engaging in economic activity in cooperation with the aggressor state, illegal authorities established on temporarily occupied territory). The investigation revealed that the suspect, while holding the position of the head of a separate unit "Republican Center for Organizing Transport" of the State Unitary Enterprise "Luhansk Autodrive," directly subordinated to the illegal authority "Luhansk Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport," organized and ensured its economic activity, specifically providing paid services for bus passenger transportation. These funds were used to replenish the "state" budget of the "Luhansk People's Republic."
For the first time in its history, the National Sorochynsky Fair will be held in Lviv. Supported by the Lviv Oblast State Administration and the Department of Culture and Tourism of the Poltava Oblast State Administration, the presentation of the National Sorochynsky Fair, dedicated to Ukraine's Independence Day, "East and West Together!" will take place in Lviv from August 24th to August 27th, 2023. Traditionally, the event will feature products from folk craftsmen, Ukrainian companies' goods, products from craft producers, Ukrainian cuisine, a vibrant cultural and artistic program, raffles, and the nationwide Festival of Folk Art "Yarmarinka."

On July 8, 2023, by the Decree of the President of Ukraine, three military pilots of the Ukrainian Air Force were posthumously awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine with the Order "Golden Star" for personal courage and heroism demonstrated in the defense of Ukraine's state sovereignty and territorial integrity since February 24, 2022.
The Mayor of Dnipro, Boris Filatov, announced that he has waived all his bonuses and allowances accrued after February 24, 2022. These funds have been returned to the territorial community budget. Mayor Filatov stated that he believes it is the right decision, especially in the current challenging times for the country, to avoid any misuse of public funds.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky responded to the overnight shelling of Odesa, assuring that there will be a response to Russian terrorists. He expressed condolences to the family of the person who died and mentioned that 20 people were injured, including four children. All necessary assistance is being provided to the injured, and he thanked everyone who is helping Odesa during these difficult times, including rescuers, doctors, military personnel, police, volunteers, local authorities, and businesses. He emphasized the importance of helping each other and the city in these challenging circumstances.
