August 28: Results of the day

It's the five hundred fifty-first day of the large-scale armed aggression by the Russian Federation against our state. During the day, the enemy launched 8 rocket and 30 aviation strikes and conducted 19 shelling attacks with multiple launch rocket systems on the positions of our troops and civilian settlements. Unfortunately, there have been casualties and injuries among the civilian population due to Russian terrorist attacks. Residential buildings, schools, and other civilian infrastructure have also been damaged. This information was reported on the official Facebook page of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

During the night, the enemy struck the village of Hoholeve in the Poltava region. As a result of the strike on a local oil facility, three people were killed, and five were injured. The location of one more worker is still unknown.

The Air Command 'East' reported the downing of four rockets over the Dnipropetrovsk region. In Kryvyi Rih, there were hits on civilian infrastructure.

In Vinnytsia, the Security Service of Ukraine exposed a criminal group that was helping to forge medical certificates and avoid mobilization.

An athlete from the Kirovohrad region, Anastasiia Sterp, returned with a victory from the World Boxing Championship in Brazil.

Mariana Shevchuk from the Vinnytsia region won a "silver" medal at the World Powerlifting Championship and received a license to participate in the Paralympics, which will take place in Paris in 2024.

In a village in the Kirovohrad region, they opened a renovated stadium named after the fallen Ukrainian soldier Valeriy Kovalchuk.

In Znamianka, Kirovohrad region, a stage of the Ukrainian Cross-Country Championship was held, during which funds were raised for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Vinnytsia athletes brought home "gold" medals from the World Shooting Championship held in Azerbaijan.
