May 22. Results of the day

This is the 453rd day of the large-scale armed aggression by the Russian Federation against our country. We summarize the day that has passed.

During the past day, the enemy launched 6 missile strikes and 52 aerial attacks, conducted 65 artillery shelling from multiple rocket launchers. Private residential houses and other civilian infrastructure have been destroyed and damaged.

In their attacks on Ukrainian cities of Lyman, Sloviansk, and Kostiantynivka, the enemy once again employed the S-300 surface-to-air missile system, which is not a precision weapon. This emphasizes the tactics of terror used by the Russian Federation. The night of May 21 to May 22 in the Poltava region was restless. There was an extended air raid alarm during the night, and the enemy launched missiles and drones into the region. According to Dmytro Lunin, the head of the Poltava Regional Military Administration, the enemy's targets were successfully intercepted by air defense forces.

During the night, the Russian forces attacked Dnipropetrovsk region with rockets and drones. This information was reported by Serhiy Lysak, the head of the Regional Military Administration.

On this night, defenders from the "Skhid" volunteer corps shot down 15 drones and 4 cruise missiles over the region. Unfortunately, there were casualties as well. In Dnipro region, a man was wounded as a result of a missile strike. He is in the hospital in moderate condition. Several buildings belonging to the rescue unit were damaged. Two fires broke out but have since been extinguished. Over 10 trucks and cars were destroyed, as well as a similar number of specialized vehicles, which were damaged. 25 private vehicles and 2 buses were also affected. There was also an attack on a private enterprise in Dnipro, resulting in damage to three buildings. In the village of Ilarionivka, Sinyelnikovo district, a drone crashed, and rocket fragments were found. Seven people were injured in the incident, including two women aged 52 and 70, who are now in the hospital.

The city of Uman continues to recover after being hit by a Russian rocket in a multi-story building. Currently, experts have compiled over 500 damage assessment reports for neighboring buildings, according to Igor Taburets, the head of the Cherkasy Regional State Administration. He mentioned that experts are currently assessing the damage to determine whether the building hit by the missile can be restored.

In Odessa, a resident has been found guilty of state treason and illegal possession of firearms and ammunition (Article 111, Part 2, and Article 263, Part 1, of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) based on the public accusation by the prosecutors of the Odessa Regional Prosecutor's Office. He has been sentenced to life imprisonment with property confiscation.

Today, in Vinnytsia region, nine special forces soldiers who gave their lives defending the country from the Russian aggressor were honored. Memorial events were held at the Sabarivsk cemetery where the fallen law enforcement officers are buried.

On May 22, in commemoration of the 162nd anniversary of Taras Shevchenko's reburial in Kaniv, Cherkasy region, the traditional pedestrian march called "The Last Path of the Kobzar" took place. The procession went from the Assumption Cathedral to the Chernecha Hora, where the poet's grave is located.
