On June 28th, on Sobornyi Square near the Holy Assumption Cathedral in Poltava, volunteers from the "Poltava Battalion of the Concerned" organized a series of events in celebration of Constitution Day. During these activities, they collected funds to support Ukraine's defenders.
Today, June 30, in Kropyvnytskyi, as part of the business forum "Women's Leadership in Times of Challenges," an event was held where children from Kirovohrad region crafted protective symbols and talismans for the defenders of Ukraine. The event was called "With Hearts and Minds - Together with Defenders!" and was reported by the Kirovohrad Regional Council.
The "Aurora" store chain, founded in Poltava, is helping Sasha from Mykolaiv region, who became a hero in the Imagine Dragons music video, rebuild his house.
In Kryvyi Rih, a charity mini-football tournament was held. The teams managed to raise 126,000 hryvnias for the ultras of the "Kryvbas" team, which is defending Ukraine.
Concerned residents of Kryvyi Rih are producing smoke grenades for Ukrainian soldiers. Currently, they have manufactured more than 40,000 smoke grenades.
In the "Friend" shelter in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, there are approximately 500 animals, with an additional 200 residing in another location. Most of the dogs were evacuated from Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia, and other regions. Some of them had injuries and concussions, and more than 10 animals have disabilities. Recently, four-legged friends affected by the flooding in Kherson region also joined the shelter. According to preliminary estimates, there are around 300 such animals.
During the night of June 24th, Russian forces launched a large-scale attack on Dnipropetrovsk Oblast using missiles and drones. This assault resulted in the injury of 11 people, including three children. Additionally, four buildings were destroyed, and another 25 sustained damage.
In Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, councils for internally displaced persons are in operation. There are a total of five such councils in the region.
Maxym Konodyuk has been living in Cherkasy for a little over a year. He moved from Kharkiv, where he lived and studied until the full-scale invasion began. In two weeks, in March 2022, he decided that he needed to relocate. Later, he found out that a Russian missile had struck directly into the room where he lived in the dormitory.
The Odessa Zoo has provided shelter for over 200 animals from flooded areas in the Kherson region. The facility has become a temporary home for animals including frogs, pythons, snakes, turtles, raccoon dogs, and even a deer.
The Director of the Department of Education and Science of Poltava Regional State Administration, Yevhen Konchakovskyy, reported that in 2022, nearly 16,000 students from Poltava Region went abroad for their education.
Poltava Oblast ranks 6th in Ukraine in terms of filling the state budget. It is one of the top ten budget-forming regions, contributing nearly 4% of revenues, alongside Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Lviv, Odesa, and Kharkiv Oblasts. In terms of local budget formation, it holds the 8th position.
