June 16: results of the day

On June 16, which marks the 478th day of Ukraine resisting Russia's full-scale invasion, Ukraine experienced a significant air alert. Russia launched attacks using ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and drones. During the air alert, Ukrainian air defense forces successfully intercepted and destroyed six "Kinjal" missiles, six "Kalibr" cruise missiles, and two reconnaissance drones. Private houses were damaged, and there were casualties in the Kyiv region.

In other news:

A confirmed case of rabies in a stray dog in Haivoron, Kirovohrad Oblast, resulted in five individuals being bitten. They are advised to receive rabies vaccinations.

Igor Koverda was appointed as the head of Holovanivska district administration in Kirovohrad Oblast.

The Economic Court of Poltava Oblast granted the Dikanska district prosecutor's claim to terminate a lease agreement and return over 100 hectares of land worth UAH 25.6 million to Dikanska village council.

Road signs that were removed at the beginning of the full-scale war to confuse invaders are being reinstated on the roads of Kirovohrad Oblast. Some signs were removed by concerned citizens, and the Road Service of Kirovohrad Oblast requests their return.

The Security Service of Ukraine arrested another FSB agent involved in planning a new Russian aerial attack on Vinnytsia. The agent was a 30-year-old local resident.

In Mohyliv-Podilskyi, Vinnytsia Oblast, two men organized illegal cigarette production and packaging.

Vinnytsia Oblast received a record amount of state funds this year to purchase housing for veterans, planning to acquire housing for 63 individuals.

A fire station for local fire protection was opened in Verhuny, Cherkasy Oblast, to promptly assist the residents of Chervonoslobidska community.

Cherkasy residents will have safe bathing opportunities at three communal beaches. A special working group inspected recreational areas near water bodies.

In Odesa Oblast, law enforcement detained a 49-year-old man suspected of killing his wife. The woman's body, bearing signs of physical injury, was found buried in a shed on their property.
